Every time I hear about a robbery, I think about the security of our home. I have definitely considered a home monitoring system, but we’ve been turned off by both the price tag and the lengthy contract periods. But now there’s a new player in town and it’s got us seriously considering a home monitoring system for the first time!
Vivint is a new concept. It provides a 24/7 home monitoring system, but without the contract.
This home monitoring system is AMAZING! It does everything from one intuitive app. Want to turn lights off? Check the temperature of your home? Open or close the garage? Give someone an access code to open your front door? See who just rang your bell while your home is empty? You can do ALL of that and more via the app.
Here is what the website has to say:
- The most comprehensive smart home experience available, anywhere
- Award-winning 24/7/365 monitoring for fire, police and medical
- 24/7 customer and technical support
- Highest-rated smart home app
I’ve not used the Vivint home monitoring system, but based on the demo I saw, it is the one that will get us to cross the bridge and buy one. I was very impressed by how easy the app was to use and how many products we could get to truly fit our needs and/or customize our home. You can do as much, or as little, as you’d like. Having 5 kids, we are very interested in the garage door, front door and temperature controlling. I loved that the front door lock could have a key code. And while hundreds of miles away, if one of our kids was locked out, I could send them a key code to open the front door. Also, no more giving a key to neighbors when they feed your dog or cat. Just use a key code and allow it to work only during the time you are gone.
Vivint is available through Best Buy. Check your local store and take advantage of the informative in-store demo.
