Our foster daughter brought the total count of our family up to 7.  Doing laundry for 7 people is no easy task.  Even though the kids all help at varying levels, our washer and dryer stay so busy that I almost feel sorry for them.  Laundry made easier sounds so nice right?  That’s exactly what you get when you check out the LG Twin Wash system at Best Buy.

LG TwinWash

Here is what Best Buy says about the LG TwinWash.

If you want to upgrade your laundry room for the new year, there’s no better way than with an LG washer and dryer. Raise your appliances to a comfortable height and get valuable storage with a traditional pedestal. Or choose the SideKick pedestal washer that will wash an additional small load ─ perfect for a load of delicate items.

If you’re interested in refreshing your clothes without laundering, consider the LG Styler ─ a steam clothing care system that can reduce wrinkles and odors in as little as 20 minutes.

While many of these features sounds nice….wrinkle reduction, nice height when using a pedestal…the feature that really gets me going is the SideKick pedestal washer that can wash an ADDITIONAL small load!  What??? That seriously is mind blowing to me!!! Laundry made easier?  Yes please!  I know it’s a small load capacity, but still.  We could get all the underwear and bras through the SideKick while the regular clothes went through the TwinWash.  What a brilliant idea and it does not take up more room!

SOLD!

If you are thinking of upgrading your washer and/or dryer then make sure you head to Best Buy, either a physical store or online.  And they have a special offer now through April 4, 2018 to save $500!! Get all the details on their site.

Pet Treater is a monthly subscription service just for dogs!  They offered personalized boxes filled with treats, toys, and accessories designed to pamper your pooch.  Each month has a different theme and May’s was Backyard Playtime.

As you can see, Zoe couldn’t wait to check it out!

We received several treat/food items, all from Vegalicious, this month.

The Vegalicious Healthy Treat Bar and the Healthy Popped Snacks are wheat, soy, corn, and gluten free.  Zoe really liked both!  The Healthy Food Enhancer contains sweet potatoes, carrots, and beets and has a built in grinder that allows you to add flavor and nutrition to any dog food. It is great for times when you are transitioning your dog to a new food.  Zoe gobbled up her food so it seems she liked it!

I’ve mentioned before that Zoe is a big time chewer and she tends to tear up toys quickly.  The Chomper Gladiator is designed for dogs like her with three layers of “Tuff-ness”.  The kids had fun throwing it for her and it is holding up well.  A built in squeaker is a nice bonus.

This cute Bottle Squeakers toy by Outward Hound is stuffing free and crackles, crunches and squeaks.  Zoe loved it but unfortunately she had destroyed the bottle within a couple of hours.  The tag says that the bottle can be replaced with another empty water bottle by removing it and transferring the squeaker cap to the new bottle.  Unfortunately, Zoe chewed the squeaker part too :/  She had fun while it lasted though!

We also received this Pup Stop Barrier from also from Outward Hound.

It’s perfect for those who travel with their dogs.  It easily connects between the two front seats to keep your dog from climbing up into the front seat.

Every Pet Treater Box contains a “Human Treat”.  This month it was this fun journal by From: Frank .

It’s filled with pictures of adorable dogs and cats with plenty of space to write in.  My son claimed this right away because he loves animals and also loves to write and draw.

Here’s the value breakdown (all prices from Amazon):

  • Vegalicious Food Topper: $7.99
  • Vegalicious Bar: $2.99
  • Vegalicious Popped Snacks: $2.49
  • Journal:  $6.76
  • PupStop Barrior: $8.63
  • Bottle Buddy: $9.46
  • Chomper Gladiator: $11.57

Total: $49.89

A month-to-month Pet Treater subscription is only $24.99 so it’s definitely a great value.  To get more info or sign up for a subscription, head over to PetTreater.com. Make sure to use the code FREE-PTBED to get a free pet bed with either the 3, 6 or 12 month subscription!

My daughter was super excited to find our February Pet Treater box on the porch last week.  She absolutely loves giving our Zoe new toys and treats.   Each box is customized for your dog and even includes a personalized letter.  The theme of the February Pet Treater box was “All you need is Love…and a dog”.

img_20170303_095407 Pet Treater February

In addition to talking about the theme for the month, the letter also reminded me that for every Pet Treater box purchased, a bed, treat, toy or blanket is donated to a local shelter cat or dog.  All of our pets are shelter animals so I love this fact!

img_20170303_095707

This bandanna is perfect for Zoe.  She loves giving kisses!  She also loves to hang out on the couch and leaves quite a bit of hair behind.  So the Furminator Hair Collector Roller will definitely come in handy!

img_20170303_095637 img_20170303_095650

The “How Smart is Your Dog?” book is really neat!  It includes many different activities/tests to do with your dog to determine their intelligence. Mt kids plan to do them all with Zoe this weekend but I did a couple with her myself.  She scored middle of the road on one and on the high end on the other.  We’ll see how she does with the rest of them!

img_20170303_095608

I think Zoe’s favorite part of the box is the treats!  This month we received Dentley’s Dried Lamb Lung Cubes, Dakota Treats Bully Sticks and a heart shaped Carob Peanut Butter Crunch cookie from Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations.

The Dentley’s are made from slow roasted natural flavored lamb lung.  Zoe loved them! The Bully Sticks have no artificial colors, flavors, artificial preservatives, and are made in the USA.  Zoe is a BIG chewer and she enjoyed these.  However, they were gone quickly.  My daughter thought the heart cookie was so cute and Zoe thought it was delicious!

img_20170303_095501

Zoe is still under a year old and has a lot of puppy energy.  She could play for hours!  She really likes squeaky toys so the Grriggles Fox Toy was a hit.

img_20170303_110736

As I mentioned, Zoe is a very strong chewer.  A lot of toys don’t hold up that well with her.  The ASPC rope toy is pretty sturdy and has held up to her chewing and tug of war playing great!  She wore herself out playing with both toys this morning.

img_20170303_113242

Every Pet Treater box includes a treat for the human.  This month it was a pair of Adirondack socks.

img_20170303_095526

The package says they are size 10-13 so are men’s socks.  I wear a size 10 so while they are a little big on me, hubby and I both wear them.  They are really soft and warm.

So here’s the value breakdown:

  • bandanna- $1
  • Grriggles toy fox- $12.80
  • Rope toy- $7.99
  • Dentley’s- $6.99
  • Bully Sticks- $6.73
  • Furminator hair roller- $4.99
  • How Smart is Your Dog book- $9.99
  • Socks- $4.99

Total: $55.48

A month to month auto shipment is only $24.99 so that’s a huge savings! If you go with a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription, it’s even cheaper ($19.99 for the 12 month!). Boxes are customized for small, medium, or large dogs.  To get more info or sign up for a subscription, head over to PetTreater.com. Here’s a great coupon code to use when you sign up!

Peaches and Petals

I recently received my March Peaches and Petals Beauty box and I’m excited to share it with you!    In case you aren’t familiar with it, Peaches and Petals in a monthly subscription service that delivers beauty/lifestyle boxes each month right to your door.  The theme of the March box was “Live life in color”.  The first thing I saw was the Stress Relieving Mandala Coloring Book and Colored Pencils.

20160326_084702 20160326_083109 I loved to color as a kid and I often color along with my kiddos.  There is something relaxing about it.  This neat coloring book is filled with intricate, pretty designs and the colored pencils came in a storage case with a built in sharpener on top.

20160326_083222

The next thing I saw was the Splatter Paint Bath Bomb.

20160326_083241

I’m excited to try this one out!  It has a fizzy water coloring effect and it smells really good too.  It has a soft sweet scent that’s not too overpowering.

Next was the Eye Magic Eye shadow kit.

20160326_084513 20160326_083332

These pads have pre-applied eyeshadow that you can press onto your eyelid.  It’s a really neat concept and I’m looking forward to trying it out.  There are only two sets in the box so I want to save it for a night out.  I figure if I don’t like how it looks, I can just wash it off or blend my own shadow with it.

I also received the “Color Me Inspired” Coffee Mug with Spoon.

20160326_131927

I’m not a coffee drinker but I do love hot chocolate.  This mug is so cute and I love how the little spoon fits into the handle.

This cute little mini pouch will definitely come in handy!

20160326_084547

I love the colors on it and it will be perfect for holding all those little items in my purse like my eye drops, chapstick, hair ties, etc.

Each box contained a “Colorful Surprise”.  Mine was a Pretty in Pink Ultra-Slim  Portable Power Bank.

20160326_084640

This will get a lot of use!  I like knowing that I will have a back up if my phone battery dies while I’m out and about.  I try to remember to keep it plugged into my usb charger in our van so it’s always ready to go.

So here’s the value breakdown (all prices come from Amazon unless otherwise noted):

Coloring Book- $7.99

Coloring Pencils- $2.99 (was unable to fins exact ones so used price for comparable ones)

Bath Bomb- $6 (from shopsassyfras.com)

Mug with Spoon- I was unable to find this exact mug but similar ones were around $10

Eye Majic eyeshadw- $7.99

Pouch- $3 for similar ones

20160326_100105

If you love surprises, Peaches and Petals is for you!  I absolutely love opening each month’s box to see what goodies I’ve received.  I’ve been able to try out some great products that I normally wouldn’t have.

I will admit, I like having a bit of a tan.  However, we all know that sunbathing is not good for us.  It causes wrinkles (those are coming fast enough thank you very much!), sun spots, and most importantly, skin cancer.  I am not willing to risk my health just to have a glow.  I’ve tried numerous self tanning lotions and creams in the past but they were time consuming and messy.  Recently, I got the chance to try out Tropic Spa’s Home Mist Tanning System.  This great kit delivers a quick mist to cover your entire body right at home.

IMG_3503

It comes with the misting unit, tanning solution, user DVD, exfoliating materials, head and foot covers, gloves and touch up solution.

After watching the helpful DVD, I hung the unit on the back of the bathroom door and plugged it in to charge.

IMG_3504b

I let it charge for a few hours and then loaded the cans of tanning solutions into the unit.  I placed a towel on the floors as recommended by the instructions.  Then I used the included covers for my hair, hands, and feet.  One of the best features of this system is that it has a self timer which makes it super easy to use.  You press the start button and then stand 18″-24″ away from the unit.  It will start misting after a few seconds.

unnamed

It beeps every 3 seconds which is the signal for you to turn 1/4 of a turn.  After 12 seconds, the unit automatically shuts off and you are completely covered!  I rubbed the tanner onto my ears and then used the touch up spray to cover the back of my hands.  The instructions say to wait about 5 minutes before getting dressed.  My skin felt fine after that, not really sticky or anything.  I didn’t notice any smell right then but I did notice one a few hours later.  It wasn’t horrible, but I could smell it.

After about 4 hours, I could see the tan developing.  When I got up the next morning, I was pleased to see a nice subtle glow!  I’m pretty pale normally so I was glad the tan wasn’t too intense.  It looked really natural.  The only bad part was that I totally forgot to rub and spread the tanning mist onto my feet so you can see the outline of the plastic feet covers.  Oops!  At least my blunder gives a you a good idea of the before and after!

IMG_3524

Here are some more pictures showing the before:

IMG_3501 IMG_3482

IMG_3474

And the after:

IMG_3553 IMG_3512 IMG_3514

I am so happy with the results!  This is so much easier  than other products I’ve used in the past.  One of the main ingredients in the Tropic Spa’s solution is DHA, [Dihydroxyacetone] which is derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar cane and I really like the color it gave me.  I love the fact that it’s pretty much fail proof.  You can’t over over expose.  The directions recommend tanning every 5-6 days but even if you did it more often, your tan would still look the same.

The kit comes with enough solution for 10 tans and retails for $299.95.  Refill kits are $100.  However, our readers can get the special pricing!  Just go to tropicspatan.com and enter code 9JRGK  for $50 off the system and the refill kits.

A0EE2C78-F21E-4335-BAD4-6367C2020A8D

One very lucky reader will win a home tanning system for themselves, worth $249!
