My friends at MomSelect sent the Flip Hybrid Diaper System to review. No compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
It’s been awhile since I have done a cloth diaper review. We have been cloth diapering for over 3 years now. And currently have two in diapers. Our 8 month old son and our 3 year old toddler are wearing diapers full time. Our three year old shows NO interest in potty training. Finding diapers that work for him has been quite challenging. When I had the chance open up to review the Flip Hybrid Diaper System, I jumped on it. I knew it would fit our 8 month old son.
Believe it or not…in over three years of cloth diapering, I have never tried Flip. To be honest, it is because I did not fully understand what a Hybrid system was, how it worked, or why I would even want one. So first let me explain the system.
What makes it a Hybrid system?
It is part cloth and part disposable. The covers are cloth covers. Totally reusable! The liners come in two forms. The reusable cloth liners AND disposable liners. You buy one, buy the other or buy both.
Why is this good?
1. Our toddler has toddler sized pee now and when are running errands it is hard to keep him dry. Using a Flip cover with a disposable liner keeps him dry for hours.
2. It offers the PERFECT blend for babies going to sitters, grandparents or day care! Make sure the providers keep the wipe the covers, but the disposable liners they just throw away like disposable diapers. I cannot fathom any day care center having issues with this. So it truly is the best of both worlds.
The inserts and liners come in different varieties and sizes. Please visit Flip for the full range of products.
What did I think after using the system?
I am thrilled with the fit on both boys. Now if I had ordered this on my own, I would never have selected the hook and loop closure. I hate hook and loop closure. Flip does sell their covers with snaps and I would always recommend getting the snap covers. Always. However, I have been pleased with these so far. They have not left the red marks that many hook and loop closures do. They fit our 24 pound 8 month old and our 35 pound toddler.
The liners worked well and the disposable liners worked amazingly well! I actually put our baby boy to bed one night in a Flip cover with a disposable liner. He slept 11 hours with NO leaks! Incredible! Our toddler? Well……here is what he thought.
If you are looking into cloth diapering, I urge to check out what Flip has to offer. If I had known about this 3 years ago, I think I would have stuck with just this brand. We are very pleased! If there is a specific question you have please post a comment and I will try and respond with a quick answer for you!
