Our family is a family of 6. 2 adults and 4 kids. You won’t find us eating out real often. We tend to mostly eat at home…which means I do a lot of cooking. You will see me running around with a label maker trying to get things organized. And my kids know if I entering their room with a garbage bag in hand, then I am there to declutter and donate items. LOL! I get an absolute thrill when I get to shop for new cooking/kitchen items. I experience the same delight when getting new items to organize with. Imagine my pure delight when I can shop for both of those things AND MORE at BrylaneHome! They have an enormous selection of items for the kitchen, home and even have amazing furniture items. They graciously sent me three items for review; a deep fryer, shoe storage boxes and an 8-shelf shoe rack!
This is the deep fryer I was sent. It is a cool touch deep fryer which is vital for families with kids. I have a neat waffle maker but the top of it is so hot. I always burn myself on it. I positively love the cool-touch walls on this model. While I still prefer my kids to not be near hot oil, I love knowing if they touch it they will be safe.
The fry basket has a handle that lifts with the push of a button. The basket is a bit small for cooking for a family of 6, but is just right for smaller side dishes. If I want to use it to make fries for the whole family, I just usually do two rounds and it makes plenty. With the built in timer, you are sure to get perfect results each time you use it. I easily envision frying some okra fresh from our garden this summer.
We were also sent the shoe boxes and shoe shelf. The girls were so excited to have it up in their room, that I volunteered to attempt to put it together myself.
I was intimidated by all the bits and pieces. Thankfully a sheet of instructions were included and even had some simple photos.
With fours kids, it is a guarantee that I will get helpers at some point. Our oldest was quite adept at piecing some items together for me.
I had a few minor mishaps, but all in all it came together easily and with minimal frustrations!
I was surprised just how large this shelf is. It is also lightweight and easy to move around. Admittedly this is a shoe shelf, yet it is easy to imagine it also being used for other light items like small craft supplies or storing a few small toys. There is a specified weight limit per shelf. This multipurpose shelf can hold 24 pairs of shoes! The girls gather the boxes, rounded up their shoes and within minutes their closet went from chaos to a-moms-dream-come-true!

Teaching your children healthy eating habits is wonderful. We try to start teaching healthy habits from the time they are very young. Making our own baby food, limiting snacks to fresh fruit and veggies, drinking water etc… Doing these things and more is great, but if their play time centers around junk food, it just does not reinforce those habits. Do you get frustrated by plastic wrap when trying to cover your food dishes? I know I do! I have wasted plenty when it doesn’t tear off the right way or fold in on itself after cutting. Wraptastic makes it so much easier! This cool gadget allows you to easily cut wax paper, plastic wrap, aluminum foil and more!
It was easy to assemble although the holes in the end of the tube of plastic wrap were too big for the plastic end pieces to fit snugly into. It still worked but the plastic wrap was a little loose. It did make it a little harder to pull the end of the wrap out to cover food since the tube wasn’t firmly in the compartment. Next time I buy plastic wrap, I’m going to get a larger roll to see if that helps.
To cut the plastic or other wrap, you simply pull out the desired amount and then press down on the top of the Wraptastic. The blade quickly and easily slices off the wrap. The stainless steel blade is recessed to protect fingers. This was important to me since my older boys love to help in the kitchen. It also has rubber feet to hold it in place on counters. Another great feature!
The Wraptastic truly did what it promises to do. We got a nice clean cut and it was so much easier to cover food dishes. No more fighting with the dull blade on the plastic wrap box!

I have to agree with Belinda. This is an awesome thing. No more wasted wrap or foil and it feels much safer. My favorite part though? Is freeing up the clutter from my drawer! Next they need to make this mountable to go under a cabinet!

My kids LOVE bubbles! We keep some on hand at all times because they provide inexpensive fun and the boys never seem to get tired of them. Now everybody’s favorite Big Red Dog, Clifford, helps kids explore the science of bubbles! This fun Bubble Science kit comes with a lab tray, measuring cup, test tubes, pipette, funnel, paper and an instruction book narrated by Emily Elizabeth, to perform their experiments.
The boys couldn’t wait to try it out! The book has 14 easy, fun experiments to try. I liked that they were simple enough for my 3-year-old but my 5 and 7-year-olds loved them as well. The first one we did was make water bubbles.
I wanted to start with this to make sure my youngest got the hang of just blowing through the straw and not sucking before we moved to bubble solution 
Next we made bubble sculptures.
They loved watching the mountain of bubbles grow!
Next my 5-year-old made some funnel bubbles.
I was impressed with how big the bubble got before it popped. We carefully held it up by the window to see all the rainbow colors in the bubble.
I pulled out some green food coloring to make colored bubbles and bubble prints.
It worked pretty well but I think we needed more food coloring. We also used a straw to add to our artwork.
We used the included pipe cleaners to make custom bubble wands.
They thought this was super cool! They made all kinds of shapes. It got a little messy but that just made it all the more fun!
This kit was not only fun but educational as well. They really enjoyed it and have asked to play with it almost every day! You can use any kind of bubble solution too so you can do the experiments over and over.
