It is never too early to start protect your family from the potential dangers of the internet.  Of course the internet is fun and so much valuable information to offer, but it does come with some inherent risks, which is why you should have a smart firewall.  CUJO is a smart firewall.

While the Cujo was easy to connect, it wasn’t flawless. I plugged the power in before the ethernet cord. I think that was enough to stall the set up until I went back and unplugged the coffee-cup-like Cujo device.
It scans for connected devices. Which — if you are like our household — the number has gone up astronomically in the past two years. From a couple cell phones and two laptops, there are now more than eight including some household-running boxes that do magic tricks for us.

You can assign devices to people and groups and pause the Internet. Once assigned to a person, it took a couple minutes to figure out how to “unassign” from a user. swipe to right on a device in the user’s assigned devices, delete and go to the new owner to assign — easy once you learn that it works much like the contacts in my phone. I still have not delved into the threat assessment directory. Being able to restrict our kids’ access to naughty and dangerous content was our primary concern and we’re not sure we’re willing to pay the annual or monthly fees for enhanced services, but much comes free with any CUJO purchase.

Designed to protect variety of devicesYour home is full of smart devices. They are not protected by antivirus, leaving your home open to hackers. The CUJO uses machine learning to secure everything from tablets to TVs and baby monitors.

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample from Peaches and Petals for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product. This post contains affiliate links.

We are fully into summer here at my house and I’m enjoying the laid back days and free time with my kids.  Schedules have gone out the door and relaxation and fun have become our themes.  Bring on backyard campouts, smores, swimming, impromptu trips to the park and late bedtimes!  I’ve also been able to enjoy a little more “me” time thanks to less busy days.  So I was especially excited to see what was in my June Peaches and Petals box.  Peaches and Petals is an awesome monthly subscription service that delivers beauty/lifestyle boxes each month right to your door. Subscriptions are only $19.99 a month with free shipping! The theme of the June box was “Summer Lovin’” and all of the items were perfect for ennoying this fun time.

Peaches and Petals June

The sequin pillow ($9.49), of course, immediately caught my eye.

This pillow is super cool!  It features flippable sequins that allow you to “draw” on it.

My daughter absolutely loved it and I had fun with it myself!  I’m thinking about getting a few to save for birthday parties my kids get invited to.

This trio from Beauty Junky ($4.99) is a great way to pamper myself a little.

It features a one time use pack of Cucumber Hand Cream, Paw Paw & Pomegranate Face Mask, and Almond Hair Mask.  The only negative is that the hair mask packet does not contain nearly enough to cover my super long hair.  There’s enough for my ends though.

I also received this Hard Candy Fox in a Box Powder Compact ($8.75), which features two blendable shades.

I was a little worried because the pink shade is really bright.  But combined with the brown shade, it worked.

The next two items are perfect for all the time we’ve been spending outside.

I’m a stickler for sunscreen and we go through it pretty quickly.  This Clear Zinc Sport Stick by Babo Botanicals ($8.64) is hypoallergenic and lightweight, dairy, soy and gluten free.  It’s perfect for sensitive skin and is fragrance free.  It went on smoothly and worked great on our recent trip to the playground.

My eyes are super sensitive to the sun so I was excited to find these Foster Grant sunglasses ($14.99) in the June box.

They offer 100% UVA and UVB protection and fit great.

I truly love everything in this month’s box and will use it all.  In fact, it’s probably one of my favorites, so far.  The total value of the items I received is $46.86 so definitely a good deal.  If you’d like to sign up, just visit PeachesandPetals.com and be sure to use one of the codes below!

Or, you can use the following code for a free hammock!  But hurry!  It’s only good through July 15th and cannot be combined wit any other offer.  This code MUST be added during checkout.

Pet Treater is a monthly subscription service just for dogs! They offered personalized boxes filled with treats, toys, and accessories designed to pamper your pooch. This month’s box didn’t have a specific theme but it contained items perfect for summer adventures.

Pet Treater June

This month’s box was pretty full!  My daughter immediately went for the toys.

This Multipet Chicken Sandwich squeaker toy ($7.99) got Zoe’s attention right away.  One squeak and she came running.  It also crinkles and Zoe really seemed to like it.

This Ice Cream Cone Freezable Dog Toy by fouFIT ($14.84) is really neat!  You can soak it in water and freeze it for refreshing playtime fun.  It also floats so you can use it in the pool or lake.

This Nylabone Fun’N’Fit Vanilla Infused Small Dog Treat Toy ($5.89) mixes fun with treat time.

You can stuff it with treats, dog food, or peanut butter.  It has rubber ridges that massage the gums and help clean teeth.  Zoe stays in her crate when we’re not home and this is a great way to help keep her occupied and happy during that time.

The June box included this card about one of the items :

I’m really glad they included the Mount Everlasting Himalayan Chew ($11.14).   It’s organic with no preservatives, and made with 100% natural ingredients.  I’ve mentioned before that Zoe is a very hard chewer.  Most toys and bones don’t last more than 24 hours with her.  This everlasting chew, on the other hand, has been fantastic!  She has had it for a week now and has chewed it everyday and she still has half of it.  I’m super impressed wit it and plan to get m

ore.

I also received another treat from Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations ($1.50).  These treats are common in the Pet Treater boxes and like usual, Zoe loved it.

Summer can be filled with day trips or getaways and if you take your dog with you, it can be a hassle to lug food along.  This OutBar Meal Replacement Bar from The Great Outdogs ($3) is the perfect solution.

It contains no grains, soy, added sugar, or artificial preservatives and includes a generous portion of real animal protein.  It is all natural with added vitamins and minerals and is interchangeable with your dog’s daily food.  It can also be broken up into snack size bites as well.

These Strawberry Flavored LickOrish Chews from Exclusively Dog ($4.59) were also a hit with Zoe.  They contain no added sugars, wheat, soy or corn and are made in the USA.

We know how important dental health is for dogs so I appreciated this pack of Arm & Hammer Gum Hugging Finger Brushes ($9.99).

They’re designed to cover the whole tooth to gumline and make it easier to get into all the spaces in your dog’s mouth.  Zoe tolerated it pretty well.

My kids’ favorite item this month was the Outward Hound Pal Pak Harness ($12.87).

This neat harness features a zippered pouch with a pick-up bag dispenser so you can easily clean up after your dog when nature calls.  The second pouch can be used for other items.  We put a few treats in it when we went for a walk.  It was easy to put on and worked well!

The Human Treat for this month was a Wrist Wallet by Sportline ($13.88).

It’s lightweight and comfortable.  It features a pocket with velcro closer that’s perfect for holding cash, credit card, ID, or any other item you need but don;t want to have to carry.  It’s great for jogs or hikes.

This month;s box was one of my favorites!  It had a ton of great items and at a value of $85.69, it’s also one of the highest value boxes I’ve received.  A month-to-month Pet Treater subscription is only $24.99 so it’s definitely a great value. To get more info or sign up for a subscription, head over to PetTreater.com. Make sure to use the code FREE-PTBED to get a free pet bed with either the 3, 6 or 12 month subscription!

Every time I hear about a robbery, I think about the security of our home.  I have definitely considered a home monitoring system, but we’ve been turned off by both the price tag and the lengthy contract periods.  But now there’s a new player in town and it’s got us seriously considering a home monitoring system for the first time!

Vivint is a new concept.  It provides a 24/7 home monitoring system, but without the contract.

Vivint home monitoring system #ad

This home monitoring system is AMAZING! It does everything from one intuitive app.  Want to turn lights off? Check the temperature of your home? Open or close the garage?  Give someone an access code to open your front door?  See who just rang your bell while your home is empty?  You can do ALL of that and more via the app.

Vivint home monitoring system #ad

Here is what the website has to say:

When you purchase a Best Buy Smart Home package along with security monitoring, Vivint will handle your product installation and any monitoring of your home. If your alarm is triggered, Vivint will contact you and dispatch police, fire or medical personnel.

  • The most comprehensive smart home experience available, anywhere
  • Award-winning 24/7/365 monitoring for fire, police and medical
  • 24/7 customer and technical support
  • Highest-rated smart home app

I’ve not used the Vivint home monitoring system, but based on the demo I saw, it is the one that will get us to cross the bridge and buy one.  I was very impressed by how easy the app was to use and how many products we could get to truly fit our needs and/or customize our home.   You can do as much, or as little, as you’d like.  Having 5 kids, we are very interested in the garage door, front door and temperature controlling.  I loved that the front door lock could have a key code.  And while hundreds of miles away, if one of our kids was locked out, I could send them a key code to open the front door.  Also, no more giving a key to neighbors when they feed your dog or cat.  Just use a key code and allow it to work only during the time you are gone.

Vivint is available through Best Buy.  Check your local store and take advantage of the informative in-store demo.
