Queen of Katwe.

Queen of Katwe #ad

Disney presents Queen of Katwe, a movie based on a vibrant true story starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo. A Ugandan girl’s life changes forever when she discovers she has an amazing talent for chess in this celebration of the human spirit.

Home audiences will cheer for Disney’s Queen of Katwe, which has earned widespread critical acclaim. Based on the vibrant true story of a young girl (Madina Nalwanga) from the streets of Uganda whose world changes when she is introduced to the game of chess, and, as a result of the support she receives from her family and community, is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion. It is a remarkable story of perseverance against all odds that will leave viewers feeling humbled and inspired.  According to director Mira Nair, “The triumph of the human spirit is not to weep for what we don’t have but to focus on what we do have and allow that to take us to a place we never imagined possible.”

Definitely a movie for the whole family.  It’s well-done, stars one of my favorites (David Oyelowo) and is so inspirational!

Available on Amazon on Blu-Ray, DVD or as a rental/digital download.

Pinocchio.

The Walt Disney Signature Collection presents a timeless story for a new generation. With his friend Jiminy Cricket by his side, Pinocchio embarks on fantastic adventures that test his bravery, loyalty and honesty in his quest to become a real boy.

Pinocchio #ad

Disney’s timeless tale Pinocchio, considered one of the greatest animated films ever made with two Academy Awards, joins the Walt Disney Signature Collection. Now it will delight a whole new generation of dreamers with its masterful animation, unforgettable characters and award-winning music. The movie which inspired the world to wish upon a star, arrives for the first time on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on Jan. 10, and on Blu-ray™ and DVD on Jan. 31 with hours of new and classic bonus features.

I grew up with this movie and even directed a kids production of Pinocchio.  I am thrilled that we now own this for our kids!

Annie’s

Annie's #ad

If you are getting your kids snacks for Valentine’s Day, why not make it snacks you can believe in and they will enjoy?  We LOVE Annie’s products!  Their cereal is awesome, their soups amazing and we love everything in this photo!  The pancake mix makes some great pancakes (or waffles).  The soups are really good and so nice and easy.  Since they come in boxes, our kids are able to easily make this soup on their own.  And who doesn’t love their Cheddar Bunnies?

Groggle’s Monster Valentine

Groggle #ad

Groggle has been up all night making a Valentine’s Day card. This isn’t just any Valentine, though, and it has to be perfect—it’s for Snarlina, his beast friend in the whole wide world.

Searching in the dark forest, he finds just the right heart-shaped leaves. He collects some bog slime and squirts everything he wants to say in bold, gooey letters. Groggle’s creation looks horribly good. But there’s just one problem—gobble, crunch, crunch, slurp! He has a monster appetite!

Groggle tries again, this time writing poem after poem to make sure he has some extras just in case. He picks skunk flowers, carefully ties on snake bows, and sprinkles shiny beetle glitter. He decorates each card with care. But . . . gobble, crunch, crunch, slurp! Groggle’s monster impulses foil his efforts and he’s run out of time.

Will Groggle ever be able to give his toothsome, stomping, monstrous friend Snarlina a Valentine? Find out in this monster of a tale.

Fans of Rachel Bright’s The Love Monster series will fall in love with Groggle and his Snarlina!

Jack thinks this book is hilarious!

Tracing books #ad Tracing books #ad

These cute books by Angie Hewitt are Jack’s new favorites.  To be honest, I was a bit surprised.  They are very simple.  But he LOVES tracing the numbers and counting.  In the shapes book, he can trace the shapes and work on his colors.  We read these 4-5 times a day right now!

Pet Treater is a monthly subscription service just for dogs, that allows people to pamper their dogs with some cool goodies! Each box is customized for your dog and is filled with wholesome treats, toys, and accessories.
The theme of the January Pet Treater box was “Cheers to another “Dog” gone year!” and as always, it included a note for our Zoe.

Zoe loved both of them!

Little Miss was excited about the toys we received.

The Grriggles Darling Dragon Dog Squeaker Toy was a huge hit!

20170113_164501

20170113_200139

Zoe loves squeaky toys so I wasn’t surprised.  Unfortunately, Zoe is a HUGE chewer so the poor dragon only lasted a few days 🙁  They Unstuffies Mouse Toy is still going strong though!  It has a squeaker at both ends, which Zoe loves!

We received two grooming products.  The first was the Shedmonster Undercoat Rake.

20170113_163636

Zoe goes through phases of heavy shedding so this will really come in handy.

I was excited about the Pet Carpet Wipes.

20170113_163625

Zoe has gotten much better with house training but still has the occasional accident.  She is also a nervous pee’er.  I like that these pre-moistened wipes will quickly and easily clean up little messes.  They use enzyme action to maximize stain and odor elimination.

Last but not least, we received a pack of PEZ soft candy chews as our “human treat”.

Disclosure: I received these Valentine’s cards for kids at no cost.  All opinions are my own.

Our girls are now old enough that they no longer are handing out Valentine’s day cards.  I am not sure how that happened exactly.  (sob)

Our boys however, are still loving the cards and want to take them to their parties at school.  There is only one place I go when I want the best Valentine’s Day cards for kids.

Peaceable Kingdom.

Best Valentine's Day Cards for Kids #ad

Hands down my favorite part about their cards is that they are romance free.  I’m sorry, but our kids are not going to hand out cards saying “You’re the one” etc…  I know, I know…it’s all in fun, but I would MUCH rather have cards that ARE fun.  Like these from Peaceable Kingdom.  They have the best cards for kids.

Best Valentine's Day Cards for Kids #ad

These cards have a simple message like “let’s play” and the card itself is a portable game of Tic-Tac-Toe! How cute is that? As a bonus, I don’t have to come up with something edible or crafty to go with the card.

Best Valentine's Day Cards for Kids #ad

These frog cards are cute too.  With fun messages like “You’re TOAD-Ally awesome” and “Hoppy Valentine’s Day” it’s easy to see why these are the best cards for kids.  And these frog cards, double as a bookmark!

Best Valentine's Day Cards for Kids #ad

These cards come in packs of 28, which is perfect for most classrooms.  They have all sorts of cards to choose from…tattoo cards, animal cards, game cards, girl cards, boy cards…Peaceable Kingdom has you covered for the best cards for kids.

I have done a lot of my Christmas shopping online this year so we frequently find packages on the porch.  Thankfully, one of those packages was my December Peaches & Petals box.  In the midst of the craziness, it was fun to stop and see what goodies I received this month!

The theme for this month is “Jingle and Mingle”.

This Keep Calm and Color On daily calendar is a fun way to keep track of the date.  It will make a great gift for my friend that loves to doodle and color.

20161214_134034

These pretty earrings were my “surprise item” this month.  They’re really cute and will add some sparkle to a solid black sweater.

20161214_134525 20161214_134619

I love trying new lip colors so I was excited about this Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain.  The color is “Lucky” which is a nice neutral mauve. It goes on smoothly and feels good on my lips.

20161214_134008

I also received this fun wine bottle ugly Christmas sweater and hat topper.  It would be really cute on a bottle of wine you are gifting to someone.

20161214_134344-1

20161214_134450
