I recently had the chance to try a couple of their products thanks to Diana Barr, Independent SPA Consultant.  I got the BC Instant Manicure and Extreme Repair Hand Creme.  My hands are super dry normally but they get even worse in the winter.  I couldn’t wait to use the spa treatments and let me tell you, I was not disappointed!  My hands were silky soft after using just the Instant Manicure scrub, but then I followed up with the creme.  It felt amazing!  It’s a nice thick creme that sinks in quickly but also lasts through handwashings.  Perfect for someone in the medical field or anyone else who washes their hands often.  Plus, not only did my hands feel soft, they looked so much better and younger!   I even used the creme on my son’s chapped cheeks.  Here’s a little more about the products I tried:

Instant Manicure:  BC Spa Manicure Instant Manicure softens and moisturizes your hands and cuticles with Dead Sea salts that gently exfoliate dead skin cells. You will experience the wonders of natural oils as they nourish, moisturize and protect your hands and nails.

Extreme Repair Hand Creme:  The skin on your hands is especially susceptible to damage. That’s why we’ve created BC Spa Manicure Extreme Repair Hand Creme. With this amazing product, you can soften and smooth your hands while delivering moisture to protect against dehydration and the signs of future damage.

You can find the products I reviewed as well as all the others BeautiControl offers at Diana’s website http://www.beautipage.com/dianabarr/

I think ALL moms can agree on one thing.  Moms are busy.  Most moms struggle with finding a healthy balance between eating healthy and eating, well, quickly.  Even though I stay home, I am busy playing with our toddler and keeping up with him, doing laundry (especially cloth diapers) and of course blogging.  I know one of my close friends is a working mom and she has trouble just finding time to eat her lunch.  Today I want to share a very simple, easy tip with you on how to have a cheap, healthy and quick lunch.  At our house when I make homemade soup, we always end up with one last serving and we don’t know whether to keep it or pitch it.  Now, I always save it.  Here is what to do.

Start with a small container like the one above.  I really love the round ones with the screw on lids.  But the one above is also easy to stack.  Then fill the container with your leftover soup.  The container holds exactly enough for a bowl of soup.  Stick the container in your freezer or deep freezer.

The next time you are needing a good lunch in a flash grab your soup from the freezer.  If you are a working mom, just pack it and take it with you as is.  If you are at home, simply defrost it and warm it on the stove.

Now, for those without access to a stove, obviously, you can achieve the same results with a microwave, but it makes it a little more special (I think) when heated up on a stove.

This total prep time took me about 10 minutes.  And then my little man and I enjoyed (previously frozen) homemade cabbage soup.  While the soup was warming on the stove, I chopped some fruit for him

and voila, a hot, healthy lunch in about 10 minutes.  It also makes me feel good that we never waste anymore soup.  Of course, this would not be limited to just soups, I am sure some casseroles would freeze well too.

Here’s to eating healthy in a hurry!

We are in the process of trying to buy a home.  We had found a home in our ideal neighborhood, ideal location, ideal size and a good price.  However, we chose to walk away.  The house was bank-owned, but not a short sale.  It happened to be owned by Chase.  We thought everything was going fairly well, we had countered back and forth with them a few times and finally come to a number we all agreed on.  Then the addendums were sent to us.  They were crazy!! 5 business days to complete ALL inspections..no matter what.  Now, under normal circumstances that might be doable.  However, Chase did not have the gas and water turned on yet and they flat out said it did not matter if they had it turned on or not but that once we signed we had 5 days. End of story.  That was just one of many crazy clauses so we walked away.  Saturday the kids and I are going with our realator to look at some more houses and see what is on the market.

Have you ever owned a home?  Do you currently own?  How was your process; smooth, bumpy, great?

Hopefully soon I can post on here that we have found an even better house!

By the way, make sure you enter both of our current giveaways while you are here.  You can visit our current giveaways tab and enter to win gift cards to both Target and Amazon!

Kristen here with a delicious recipe to share with you.  On a healthy eating scale, I would say this recipe is about 7/10 for being healthy.  I also think you could tweak it to make it healthier.  I made it exactly like it appears below and 4/5 of my family loved it, which means 4/5 were eating spinach! Woo-hoo!

Spinach Spaghetti:

1 package spaghetti (cooked and drained) *I used whole wheat

2 10 oz. packs of frozen spinach thawed, chopped and dried

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

1 small onion finely chopped

1 1/2 cups Sour cream

2 cups Monterrey Jack Cheese

1 tablespoon Parmesan Cheese

2 eggs beaten

Mix all 9 ingredients in a bowl then transfer to a greased 9×13 dish.  Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour.  The original recipe called for adding 1 cup of Parmesan to the top of the dish and cook for another 5 minutes but we left it off since our kids always add cheese to pasta dishes.

We loved this and my husband wants it again next week.  It is filling and a great way to sneak some veggies in too.

If you try it, please let us know!
