My husband and I lead a Sunday School class at our church. Last weekend we invited the class over for an outdoor party. I wanted to share the photos but also to encourage you to host your own parties! I know, when I used to think of parties, I pictured parties like the ones I see my friends posting on Facebook. Pretty decorations, gorgeous food and everything looked fresh out of a Good Housekeeping magazine. It has taken me some time, but I have realized none of those actually make or break a party. I have since learned to keep it simple and cheap frugal. I founds hot dogs on sale for .88/pack. I made a trip to Aldi’s to score buns for a great price. I bought a few bags (seriously 2) of store brand chips. And I got smores stuff. Everyone had to cook their own hot dogs over the fire pit. I had water, tea and Kool-Aid available. The entire “prep” time for this party was well under an hour. The cost…less than $20. Oh, I forgot the $3 watermelon we sliced too but it was still less than $20. And check out the fun had by all!
For less than $20 we fed 15 people. AND had leftovers! The only thing we ran out of was KoolAid…who knew 2 gallons would not be enough? But I just wanted to show you a party is doable for everyone!
What about you? Is your house Party Central? Are you a Martha Stewart? Or are you someone who shies away from having a party?

WOW. I can’t believe you can have so much for and on $20!!! Looks like everyone had a blast!
watermelon is the unofficial food of summer in my book. I love Aldi. I shop there every week and get so much food for less than $40. They are my party shopping spot too.
And it looks like EVERYONE had a blast!
We don’t really have a lot of parties but when we do, we go the frugal route too!
Looks like everyone had a great time!
