A couple of weeks ago I shared some great pet food products from Newman’s Own Organics.  Well now I have the pleasure of telling you about their “human” line of foods  Newman’s Own Organics was established as a division of Newman’s Own in 1993, and became a separate company in late 2001.  They produce a large variety of delcious organic foods.  I was sent a generous supply of many of their products.  These icluded:

I really like that they offer some of my family’s favorite varieties but that they’ve improved them by using the highest quality of available organic ingredients.  Not only are these healthier for us but they tasted great!  My kids love pretzels and these were a big hit!  They didn’t last long at all!  The boys also loved the Fig Newman’s.  I’m not even a big fan of figs but I really enjoyed them as well.  They had a great texture and flavor.  The apricots and raisins tasted great and the kids loved snacking on them.

I’m a big cookie person.  They are one of my favorite snacks.  I didn’t feel as guilty snacking on these though!  I also felt better about giving them to my kids since I know that they’re made from quality, organic ingredients.  The chocolate chip cookies were my favorite. They were truly addicting!  A close second were the Peanut Butter Newman’s O’s.  These are chocolate sandwich cookies with peanut butter in the middle.  SO yummy!  We also enjoyed some of the more uncommon flavors, like the ginger cookies and the hermits.

Of course the chocolate bars were popular  I really liked the milk, dark chocolate, and orange milk chocolate while my husband liked the mocha milk chocolate.  All of the bars were sweet without being too sweet.  The bars also have a nice creamy, smooth texture.  The boys loved the peanut butter cups.  They said they liked them better than the ones we’ve gotten at the grocery store.

One of the biggest surprises to me was how much I liked their licorice.  I’m not normally big on it but their sour flavors blew me away!  The sour apple was my favorite.  They are coated in organic sugar and sour crystals, derived from natural citrus sources.  I had to force myself to stop eating them!  The boys really liked the pomegranate variety.  It had a nice, unique flavor.  We enjoyed the mints although the ginger ones were a little strong for me.

On top of the great tasting foods Newman’s Own Organics makes, I also love the fact that the company gives back.  Since 1982 Paul Newman and the Newman’s Own Foundation have donated more than $350 million dollars to educational and charitable organizations worldwide.  It feels good to support a company that cares and contributes.

While everyone in the family had their favorites, I can honestly say we enjoyed everything we tried.  I would definitely recommend Newman’s Own Organics for healthy AND tasty snacks!  You can see all their products and ingredients HERE.
