Homemade Spicy Thai Noodles!

I had found this recipe online but made several adjustments to suit my husband’s taste preferences and my preferences too!  I would also like to add, this recipe probably is not suitable for most younger kids because it is SPICY!  And I don’t think it would taste the same if it wasn’t spicy.  So I saved this recipe for a night when I only needed to cook for my husband and I.

Ingredients:

1 package linguine noodles

1/2 cup Sesame Oil

1/4 cup Vegetable Oil

1 tablespoon crushed red pepper

6 tablespoons soy sauce

6 tablespoons honey

topping of choice….used fresh chopped cilantro, chives and toasted sesame seeds.  Other ideas could include chopped peanuts, diced chicken or grilled shrimp, green onions etc….Completely up to your likes! My husband wants chopped garlic in it next time.

Cook the pasta according to package directions.

Meanwhile heat both oils over medium heat in a small sauce pan.  Add in the tablespoon of crushed red pepper.  (At this point I also added the sesame seeds to allow them to roast).  Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently.  When the noodles are finished and drained, remove the oils from the heat.  Whisk in the soy sauce and honey.  Whisk it well!  Pour the sauce over the noodles and stir well.  Then add in the toppings of your choice…cilantro, chives etc…

You will want to stir it up because the sauce will keep settling.  This dish is awesome! My husband said it was better than eating out!!! Let me know if you try it or plan to try it.  Also leave comments with any other topping ideas that you might have.
