Ritmo Prenatal Sound System Review and Giveaway (US) 7/15

I’ve mentioned before how I love playing music for my babies while pregnant.  Not only is it a great way to bond but research also shows that music influences both mental and physical development.  In the past, I’ve used regular headphones stretched across my belly.  It was definitely not the ideal since it meant I pretty much had to lay or sit the whole time.  The Ritmo Prenatal Music Belt by Nuvo-Group changes that.  The Ritmo belt fastens around the belly and has four individual speakers built in.  Nuvo offers both the Ritmo and the Ritmo Advanced. Both include the belt which deliver music in a surround sound way to your baby.  You simply plug the speaker wire into your mp3 player or ipod.  The belt has a little pocket for your device to sit in.

I was sent the Ritmo Advanced to try out.  In addition to the standard features, it includes the Ritmo Safe & Sound Controller, which is a device that  learns the patterns of music and sounds and plays it to the baby in the womb at a continuous safe and stable decibel level that uniquely fits their physical growth stage during the pregnancy.  This ensures that the music you play will always be at a safe level for your baby.

There’s a pocket on the opposite side of the belt to hold this.  The system is super easy to use.  You just plug your mp3 player into the Safe and Sound Controller and then strap the belt on.  It has a velcro closure and comes with an extension piece to ensure a good fit all throughout your pregnancy.  You also have the option of plugging in your own headphones so you can listen a long with your baby.  I love this since it lets me bond with my little one :)

The speakers are removable so you can easily machine wash your belt.  The Advanced system comes with a washing pouch.  The belt can be worn over or under your clothing.  I wear it while I’m doing things around the house, or while I read.  I made a special mix of songs to play for my little one.  He/she really seems to like it.  I know that my other boys always seemed to calm down when they heard the songs I had played for them while pregnant.  Another great feature of the system, is that since it connects directly to your mp3 player, you can even record yourself or family member talking, reading or singing to your baby.  What a great feature for out of state relatives or dads who are in the military and stationed overseas!  Nuvo even offers a Direct Connect feature that makes recording messages easy.  You can record messages yourself or send the link to family members.  Once they’ve recorded the message (up to 5 minutes long) they can send it back for you to download onto your music device!  I really enjoy using the Ritmo and love knowing that it’s safely and conveniently delivering music to my baby!

You can purchase the Ritmo Basic Pregnancy Audio Belt on their website for $79.95 or the Advanced system for $149.95.  One very lucky reader will win the Pregnancy Audio Belt for themselves!  Just enter using the rafflecopter form below!
