Belinda here with another Baby! Baby! review and giveaway! I had never done yoga until I was pregnant with my first baby. Someone loaned me a prenatal yoga dvd and I loved it! Not only was it a great way to stretch and work my muscles, but it was also really relaxing! I was so excited to get the chance to review Jennifer Wolfe’s Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga and Short Forms. I was sent the complete 2 DVD set.
The Short Forms dvd consists of a 15 minute, a 30 minute, and a 45 minutes yoga session. I really loved this! It was nice to adjust my workout according to how much time (or energy!) I had on a certain day. There is a section at the beginning that discusses the different modifications for each stage of pregnancy. There are 3 women in each video, each one representing a different trimester, that also shows the modifications for poses. The workouts are easy to follow and do a great job of stretching your muscles. I was envious of how flexible these women were! I’m hoping I’ll get better, the more I do it. The poses felt so good, especially the ones that stretched my back and hips. There’s a 5 minute relaxation part after the sessions. It helps you relax your mind and body. It definitely worked! I felt like I could just go to sleep in the floor! The dvd also includes a bonus section with poses that will help during labor. I definitely plan on using them.
The Vinyasa Yoga dvd includes a full 75 minute prenatal yoga dvd. It is very similar to the short form sessions, just extended. While I really liked it, I have to admit, with 5 kids, it’s hard to find 75 minutes to myself to do the whole workout. I do feel really good after doing it though. Yoga is definitely a workout. I could feel my muscles working. This dvd has a 15 minute relaxation section and a 10 minute partner routine. I haven’t tried the partner section yet just because my hubby and I haven’t had time without the kids to do it yet. We definitely will though because it looks like you would get a really good stretching session and be able to stretch more fully.
There are so many benefits to yoga during pregnancy. It increases your energy, helps back pain, lowers your stress, and helps you to stay fit. Staying fit during pregnancy can make for an easier labor and faster recovery. It also helps you focus on your baby and who doesn’t love doing that?? I highly recommend these dvd’s!
