WholesaleStarwarsCostumes.com Review

My boys love costumes.  We have a whole trunk consisting of everything from dragons to doctors.  So, I was excited to get the chance to review a costume from WholesaleStarwarsCostumes.com .  They offer many different costumes for Star Wars for both adults and children.  They even offer pet costumes.  The boys looked through the site and after much thought, decided on the Jawa costume.  I have to admit, I had no idea who or what this was but they told me he was a good guy and they loved the idea of the light up eyes.  Here’s a Star Wars article provided by the company. Here’s a pic of the costume they chose from the site:

The boys were thrilled when the costume came and wanted to wear it immediately but I made them wait til I was ready to do the review (mean I know!).  The costume consisted of a robe, foam belt pieces that attach at the shoulders with velcro and a hood with eyes that are supposed to light up.  I say supposed to because unfortunately, ours didn’t.  There is a little switch on the inside of the hood to turn the eyes on.  I moved the switch and nothing happened.  My 8 year old was pretty disappointed.  The light up eyes were the reason they chose the costume and without that feature, the costume  just doesn’t have the appeal it should.    Here is my son in the costume, a close up of the switch and a close up of the hood:

I contacted the company but was told that unfortunately, they don’t do returns or exchanges on review costumes.  Here is a copy of their regular return policy:

“Costumes may only be returned, if they are unworn and in new condition with original packaging within ten (10) days of receipt. We strongly recommend that you use our online returns website at http://costumes.upsrow.com to print a prepaid label for your return shipment. Using this fast and easy tool ensures that your return package is properly tracked and delivery receipt is confirmed. When you use our pre-paid UPS shipping label, the return shipping fee of $5.99 will be deducted from the value of your returned item(s) when we process your credit.

You may also choose your own shipping method to send us your Product Returns. However, we strongly suggest that you choose a shipping method that includes the ability to track your order. We will not be held responsible for crediting your account if you cannot verify receipt of the Product Return.

All costs associated with shipping Product Returns are at the expense of the customer and are non-refundable. Once your package has been received and inspected, a credit will be issued to you for the price of the item(s) being returned. If your order was placed with a check or money order, you will receive a check.”

I would definitely keep this in mind when ordering from WholesaleStarwarsCostumes.com since if you receive a defective product, you only have 10 days to return it and you will be charged for the return shipping.  I would recommend opening it as soon as you get it to make sure it’s okay.

Final Thoughts:

The Jawa costume is currently on sale for $28.90.  Standard shipping is $6.90.  That would have been quite a bit for a costume that didn’t work.   I may have just had the misfortune to get a bum costume (I have that kind of luck!).  The site does have quite a selection though, most of which do not include any parts that require batteries and I’m sure they’d have any Star Wars costume you could want.
