I love getting a nursery ready for a new baby!  It’s so exciting and gives my hubby and I time to focus and do something just for our new addition.  I was super excited to find My Wonderful Walls!  The company was created by Michael Goins, who came up with the idea while painting a mural in his son’s room.  Their products make it easy for anyone to get a custom look!  We aren’t finding out the gender of this baby (although with 5 boys already, my money is on boy!), so I wanted something that could work for either a boy or a girl.  I chose the Forest Friends Wall Sticker Set for our nursery mural.  It’s a forest scene with a variety of animals and flowers.

When the set arrived, the directions recommended painting and letting it cure for 2 weeks before applying the wall decals.  This prevents the decals from bubbling.  The room was already painted a light green color so I just painted the top part of an alcove wall blue for the sky and a small pond.  I figured that if it is a girl, we may paint the rest of the room a more girly color after the baby is born.  This is the outline of the skyline and then the finished paint job.

The stickers came on a large rolled up sheet with another small sheet with extra leaves.

It looked intimidating at first but after watching a video demonstration from their website, I felt more relaxed.  The pieces are vinyl and have a self sticky backing.  They easily come off the paper and you just place them on the wall, gently smoothing them down.

It really was super easy!  One of the things I love the most about these decals is that if you do make a mistake or want to re-position or move one of the decals, you can just peel it off and re-stick it!  This will come in handy if we switch up the kids’ rooms in the future!  The decal can move with the baby!  The hardest part of the process was deciding where to put everything.  Thankfully, the My Wonderful Walls website has many pictures submitted by other customers to give you ideas.  It took us about 45 minutes to lay it out and get everything on the walls.  I LOVE the results!  I am so excited to get the rest of the room in order now!

       

In addition to the sticker kits, they also offer stencil kits if you want something more permanent.  You can get just the stencils or add the paint as well to make a complete kit.  How cute is the fairy kit?!
